Our Ethos

Each child is encouraged to develop to his or her full potential through a variety of play opportunities. We encourage each child to think, question, discuss and evaluate where possible.

The nursery is staffed and resourced with this in mind,
The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is planned to offer the widest range of experiences for all our children.

Parental/Carer involvement in the life of the nursery is encouraged and all parents/carers are welcome to contact and visit the nursery as they wish.

Our Aims

Juice Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is planned to offer the widest range of experiences for all our children. Our aim is to:

• Create a stimulating, caring and safe environment for ALL children in our care.
• Actively promote the development of positive self image within the children.
• Work as partners with parents/carers in an open and honest way.
• Have an involvement with the local community.
• Develop and maintain strong links with other agencies and for them to recognise our professionalism.
• Create a non-sexist atmosphere by introducing appropriate toys,
• books and games to encourage equal development of both sexes
• Eliminate racism throughout its whole structure by:
  • welcoming ethnic minority contributions to the policies and practice of the nursery.
  • providing positive images of different ethnic minorities and cultures, e.g. posters, toys, food, clothing, festivals.
• A Keyperson will work on a 1: 3, 1: 4, and 1: 8 ratio with their key group of children, monitoring their progress through weekly observations, anecdotal records, curriculum planning and reviewing progress. This information will be collated and placed in the child’s development file monthly.
• By implementing a monthly review check and a half yearly Review, we aim to become shared carers and we feel that you should be aware of how your child is progressing.
• Provide places for special needs children if appropriate, with staff who are trained to  give the child and parent/main carer support.
• Encourage the participation of parents/carers in all aspects of the running of the nursery.
• Encourage parents/carers to visit the nursery at any time.
• Provide an atmosphere this makes the child and the parent/carer happy and comfortable within the nursery.
