NDNA Nursery of the Year Awards 2018 are OPEN

We are very proud of our nursery and the quality of care that we provide and would like to publicly acknowledge the efforts of our fabulous team by entering the 2018 NDNA Nursery of the Year Awards.

The NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association) seek to reward and celebrate excellence across the sector, through an annual awards programme, highlighting the fantastic work of nurseries in supporting over one million children and their families.

The programme is open to all nurseries across the UK and are the ONLY awards voted for by parents. As a setting we have entered the ’Nursery of the Year‘ category, which seeks to recognise exceptional settings, providing excellent levels of care to their children.

So, if you would like to show your appreciation for the work that we do then please vote for us, by clicking here. To support your vote please include comments, highlighting what it is that you (and your child!) love and value most about Juice Nursery.

As well as entering as a setting we have also Danielle Norwood forward in the Practitioner of the Year category.

With a passion for all things early years, and a dedication to ensuring that all the children within our setting receive the highest possible level of care, Danielle is an exceptional member of our team, who has found her vocation in life, working with passion and consistently going the extra mile.

Originally joining Juice Nursery in 2008, on a college placement, Danielle has risen through the ranks, from Apprentice to Childcare Worker, to Senior, before being promoted to Room Leader in 2017.

With a key focus on ensuring that we are a truly inclusive setting, Danielle has been the nursery SENCO since 2013, a role that she relishes.

As well as overseeing our SEND provision, Danielle is a Safeguarding Officer, a role which she proactively developed last year, taking responsibility for ensuring all Policies and Procedures are regularly review and updated, as well as running a Safeguarding Refresher Workshop for her colleagues, covering a number of areas including British Values and The Prevent Duty.

With a wealth of experience, bubbly personality and ‘can do’ approach, Danielle is an extremely positive role model, which has also seen her mentoring Apprentices joining the nursery.

Ultimately aspiring to become a Pre School Teacher within a nursery setting, and part of the management team, Danielle is a reflective practitioner, who strives to evolve her practice and, as a result, proactively seeks to continue her professional development.

To register your vote for Danielle click here, providing comments, if possible, detailing why you think Danielle should be the lucky winner of this award.

Thank you for your support :)

Wood Street Mission Christmas Appeal 2017

Thank you to all of the children, parents and staff of Juice Nursery, who joined us in support of Wood Street Mission’s 2017 Christmas Appearl.

The appeal received a phenomenal response once again and we are proud to have been able to do our bit, raising a marvellous £60, in addition to sending a fabulous array of gifts and toys to the charity before Christmas, and we are really grateful, once again, for all your support and generosity.

We also wanted to give Redhouse Farm, Altrincham’s Bistrot Pierre, Matt Priestley Photography, Kimchi Sushi, Mess Around Cheshire, Finishing Touch Hair & Beauty and H2Bees for generously donating prizes for our raffle.

Children and Families Trafford Directory

As an early year’s setting, we are very closely linked into Trafford, our Local Education Authority, seeking advice and support from them on a range of areas, as and when necessary.

But, did you know that you, as parents, can also access help and information on any aspect of family life, from health & wellbeing, to keeping safe, or simply finding out what’s on in the local area, via a dedicated Children and Families Trafford Directory, which can be accessed by clicking on this link.

You will also find help, information and details about support services across a whole range of areas, and how you can seek help if your child is disabled or you are concerned that they might have a special educational need. For more information on Trafford’s SEND Local Offer, please follow this link.

If you want to know more, or have any questions or queries then please do get in touch with Lesley, our Juice Nursery Manager at lesley@juicenursery.com or Danielle our SENCo on danielle@juicenursery.com

World Nursery Rhyme Week

We LOVE LOVE LOVE nursery rhymes here at Juice Nursery and as such have had a great time taking part in this year’s World Nursery Rhyme Week, sponsored by Music Bugs.

As well as being great fun to sing or say, they play an important part as building blocks in children’s speech and literacy development. The simple words, catchy tunes and repetitive patterns make rhyming easy to remember, fun and interesting, so they stick in children’s minds. As well as many educational benefits there are other artistic and social benefits too… for more information just click on this link.

Here’s to the next 10 years!

As you may already know, here at Juice Nursery, we have been celebrating our 10th anniversary since opening, and what a 10 years it has been!

It has been a lot of hard work but we are extremely proud of our nursery, the service that we provide to the families that entrust their children to us – which we believe to be truly Outstanding – and most of all to our team of staff, without whom none of this would be possible.

We believe that our continued success can, in no small part, be attributed to having such a strong team of dedicated and motivated staff, who have a passion for what they do, and are keen to grow and develop with us, as the nursery continues to evolve.

In an ever changing world, we are very proud that a good number of our staff, who joined the team at the very beginning, are still with us – including our Nursery Manager, Lesley Wilson, pictured here with Julie Round and Kim Starkie, who were also amongst the original team all those years ago. So, as we look back over the past 10 years and look forward to the next, we want to say a massive thank you to all our hardworking members of staff, who work hard every day to ensure that we are the best that we can be.

First Aid – Parent Workshop

As part of our Millie’s Mark commitment to help highlight the importance of as many people as possible having some basic first aid skills and knowledge, we were delighted that so many of our Juice Nursery parents were able to join us at our First Aid for Parents Workshop.

The course was run by Paul Green from First Responder to cover some basics of what to do if faced with a first aid emergency situation, so that effective emergency treatment can be given before professional help arrive, which can go a long way to reducing the effects of illness and injury and indeed save a life.

The evening proved very popular and we hope to organise further such workshops in due course.

Big 10th Birthday Bash!

We cannot quite believe it, but this month marks the 10th anniversary since Juice Nursery first opened it doors!

To mark this most special of occasions, we invited all our current children, parents and staff to join us at The Bowdon Parish Centre for our Big 10th Birthday Bash for an afternoon of family fun!

We had a little help from our friends at Stretch-n-Grow, Caroline and Kathy, who came along to put us all through our paces (which meant we had definately earnt our birthday cake!) and Milena from Mess Around Cheshire, who created a room full of messy activities all with a birthday theme, for the children to enjoy!

Safe to say we all had a fabulous time…. and here’s next 10 years!!!
