We love our Mummys!

It was lovely to be able to welcome so many mums, grandmas and even great grandmas to our Juice Children’s Nursery Afternoon Tea on Friday, in celebration of Mother’s Day! All our staff and children worked really hard to get everything ready to welcome all the Mummys, who (it seemed to us!) had a really lovely time. Children in our Pink & Purple Rooms planted spring bulbs with their mummies, as well making some homemade cucumber sandwiches for them to enjoy during their special Afternoon Tea! Our Blue Room decorated biscuits with their Mums, who also enjoyed sandwiches made by the children, as well as being served cakes and fruit juice. The children in the Orange & Green Rooms served Afternoon tea to their guests, including homemade sandwiches, cakes, scones and fruit juice, going for the vintage feel, complete with aprons, lace table cloths and cake stands! Yummy in your tummy!! Our special thanks go out to all the Mummys who came in, as well as our brilliant team of staff who worked extra hard to make everything perfect for all of our special Mums!

Juice Children’s Nursery for Sport Relief!

Thank you to all our staff, parents & children for all their support as we did our bit to raise funds for Sport Relief, holding a special Juice Children’s Nursery Activity Morning in Altrincham’s Town Hall. We raised a fabulous £102.50, so a BIG thanks to everyone who kindly donated! The children had a great time balancing & sliding, jumping & hopping, as well as crawling through tunnels & climbing on the soft play equipment. Children in our Pink & Purple Rooms were encouraged to balance on our squashy circles and climb up the slide and through the tunnels, and of course really enjoyed hiding under our giant, floating parachute! The older children were put through their paces, running laps on the grassy area outside the Town Hall and bending & stretching to warm up, before they all had the chance to navigate their way around our obstacle course! So, all in all it was a fabulous morning of fit fun for everyone!

Granny’s Teeth…Preschool’s Adventure!

Much fun was had in our Juice Children’s Nursery Preschool, when Teacher, Alex Chiorando was asked to take part in a project organised by Alistair Bryce Clegg, a well respected & much followed Early Years Advisor & Consultant, involving a set of false teeth!! Our challenge was how we could incorporate the teeth into our Preschool planning & activities?! And so we got our thinking hats on…looking for inspiration from our topic of Traditional Tales, and in particular the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ which the children had enjoyed reading… and so the plan was hatched! Want to find out more about how the children turned detectives in order to find Granny? Then read all about it in our Preschool Blog – truly inspired learning wouldn’t you agree?! http://juicepreschool.wordpress.com/2014/03/13/grannys-teeth/

World Book Day at Juice Children’s Nursery

We all love a good book here at Juice Children’s Nursery, & had a great time celebrating World Book Day 2014 – the biggest celebration of books & reading in the world, which recognises the joy & value that they bring, especially for children. To mark this special occasion the children in Pink, Purple & Blue Rooms were invited to bring their special teddy into nursery with them, and, in addition, children from Blue, Orange & Green Rooms came into nursery dressed as a character from their favourite book! We had some lovely plans for the day, including a very special visit from Goldilocks, who came in to share her adventures with the three bears, and we all enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic at tea time!
