Operation Christmas Child

Thanks to all our fabulous parents and staff at Juice Nursery, who helped share a little love as the festive season approaches, taking the time to fill a shoe box with lots of gifts and treats in support of Operation Christmas Child’s annual shoe box appeal. Launched in 1990, to date, Operation Christmas Child has seen more than 113 million underprivileged children, from over 130 countries around the world, receive gift-filled shoeboxes, wrapped and packed by children and adults in the UK.
Thanks again to everyone who got involved!

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day has been very much in our minds this week at Juice Nursery, with the children getting involved in various different activities to mark the occasion. Yesterday saw the children in the Pink & Purple Room paint their own poppies, and on Monday our preschoolers made their own wreath, which they took to lay in Altrincham’s Chapel Street. For those of you who aren’t aware of Chapel Street, you might be interested to know a little more…When the First World War broke out, 161 men from 60 homes in the street, joined the army to fight for their king and country. Fifty of the men who joined up paid the ultimate sacrifice however, their efforts did not go unnoticed, with King George V rewarding their valour by naming Chapel Street ‘the bravest street in the country.’

Staff Member of the Month – October

Chef, Karen Walton might have only joined our Juice Nursery team in September, however it is safe to say that she has made a very big impression in a very short space of time! Karen freshly prepares a varied & tasty menu for the children on a daily basis, that is also, very importantly, both balanced & nutritious. In addition, she is always keen to go the extra mile, and really hit the ground running when she first joined the nursery, baking up a storm in support of MacMillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. More recently, Karen totally surpassed herself providing a hair raising menu, full of spooky and yet very tasty treats as we celebrated Halloween… including Ogre Slime Soup, Scary Nice Mice, Monster Claws with Blood Sauce and Mummified Sausages! Well done, Karen – we can’t wait to see what you plan to cook up next!
