Staff Member of the Month – July

Well done to Childcare Apprentice, Chelsea Benson-Bradbury, who has received our July Staff Member of the Month award.

Still relatively junior in our team, Chelsea has been described as ‘a natural with the children’ and has been singled out by her peers for the way she has really got to grips with her role at Juice, as well as her proactivity, and the way she uses her initiative within the room.

Well done, Chelsea – off to a flying start :)

It’s Party time…!

It was party time in our Orange Room today, with not only the children and staff, but also our specially invited VIP guests (also known as our parents!!) all thoroughly enjoying a summer beach party.

Complete with coconut shy, beach bowls, hook-a-duck, lucky dip and party tea, lots of fun was had by all…and what’s more the sun even managed to shine! Happy days :)

Well done to all our Orange Room staff, who went to such great efforts to recreate the beach at Juice Nursery!

Birds, Bees and Butterflies…it’s Altrincham in Bloom

Today is the BIG day, as members of the RHS Britain in Bloom team come to ‪‎Altrincham‬ to judge the town’s entry into this year’s competition, the results of which will be announced in the autumn.

Overseen by Alty in Bloom, following a theme of Birds, Butterflies and Bees, we think that the community planters around the centre of town look fabulous!

Here are a few pictures of our Juice Nursery planter, located at the top of George Street, which with thought you might like to see!

Fingers crossed!

Graduation 2015

We simply cannot believe how fast this year has gone and that it is nearly time to say a very fond farewell to our Juice Nursery Preschool class.

They have had a simply fantastic year and have achieved SO much, under the guidance of our Preschool staff – Alex our Teacher, Room Leader, Leanne and Senior Childcare Worker, Rachel – and we will really miss them all very much.
To mark this special time we held our graduation ceremony this week and were delighted that so many parents and grandparents were able to join us to celebrate their achievements.

We know that many of the children will remain with us for the next few weeks, but wanted to take this opportunity to give them all a big shout out. They have been a fabulous class and we wish them all well as they prepare for big school!

Back to school…with First Responder!

With the aim of ensuring that 100% of our Juice Nursery staff are first aid trained, members of our team are currently being put through our paces by Paul from First Responder Ltd, who specialise in delivering paediatric first aid courses. It is our policy here are Juice, that ALL our staff are enrolled in The Paediatric First Aid award, which they must then resit every 3 years. The course meets the requirements of Ofsted, following the latest guidelines from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which we believe helps reassure the parents of the children in our care.

The course is an intensive, 12 hours long, covering everything staff would need to know to help a sick, injured or ill child, prior to the arrival of the emergency services. We have been practising our CPR skills, learning to use an AED, finding out more on what to do if confronted with a choking child, as well as getting to grips with bandages & the recovery position! Hope we never need any of it, but our aim is to ensure we are all well prepared.

Summer fun with Tumbletots!

Children from our Juice Nursery Pink and Purple Rooms were in for some summer fun, and had a fabulous time when the team from Tumbletots came to visit.

The sessions fun by Tumbletors are specifically designed to help stimulate and encourage babies to use all their senses, gently and without pressure. Playing, exploring, crawling and learning together in a fun and relaxed atmosphere…who could ask for more?! :)
