Greetings from Her Majesty The Queen!

Look what arrived in the post today…. all the way from Buckingham Palace…. a lovely thank you letter, sent on behalf of The Queen, to the staff and children in our Juice Nursery Blue Room, who sent her lots of lovely homemade birthday cards :)

Healthy Setting Award

What a great end to another lovely week here at Juice Nursery, which saw us receiving official notification that we have been successful in achieving the Trafford Early Years Healthy Setting Award. This process has taken several months, and started with us submitting a detailed information pack, which covered various aspects of nursery life, but with a particular focus on Healthy Eating, Health & Safety, Physical Play Activity and Emotional Well-being.

A panel of assessors thoroughly reviewed the pack, following up on this with visits to the nursery, meeting with members of our staff to talk about our practice, as well as talking to some of the children in Preschool about their life here at nursery.

Clearly, we are delighted to receive this award and wanted to take this opportunity to give all of our staff a big shout out. Achieving this is recognition of their efforts and the fantastic work that they do in working with the children to promote the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Have a Heart Update

We are delighted to be able to share with you that our Juice Nursery AED, purchased using funds raised from our ‘Have a Heart Appeal’ has now reached it’s permanent home, and is located in a cabinet on the side of Altrincham Market (on the corner of Greenwood Street and Shaw’s Road).

Whilst clearly we hope it is never needed, the device is there so that in case of emergency it might be available to use by members of our local ‪Altrincham‬ community, as well as by the nursery.

The AED has been registered with the North West Ambulance Service who will give out the access code to the cabinet following a ’999′ call.

The defibrillator is fully automated and therefore very easy to use, as spoken instructions are provided at each stage. That said, we will be setting up a free demonstration session, OPEN TO ALL, led by Paul from First Responder, who carries out all our First Aid training requirements here at Juice.

Staff Member of the Month – May

Congratulations to Rebecca Jones who stands out as our Staff Member of the Month for May.

As well as being nominated by a colleague for the fabulous work that she is doing within the Pink Room, Becky has also been a busy bee, devising a fun and interactive introduction to first aid for our Preschoolers, as well as putting forward some ideas to improve our Juice Nursery Welcome Pack.

Well done, Becky!

Toddle Waddle

We did it! The staff, children and parents of Juice Nursery were out in force this morning around ‪Altrincham‬, enjoying the sunshine on our Toddle Waddle, whilst raising funds for Meningitis Now. All back safe and sound, in good time for lunch and a well deserved rest!

Well done to all those who took part, and thank you to all our lovely parents for supporting us… we raised a fantastic £828 in total, so a big, big shout out to everyone who donated – we really do appreciate it.
