Paint Altrincham Pink

We really were in the pink today, here at Juice Nursery, wearing something pink in support of Prevent Breast Cancer and the Paint Altrincham Pink campaign, which brought the local community together, to raise vital awareness and funds in the fight against Breast Cancer.  For more information on the initiative please follow this link.

Thanks to everyone for putting on some pink, we raised a fabulous £50!

Have a Heart Update

We are delighted to be able to share with you that our Juice Nursery AED, purchased using funds raised from our ‘Have a Heart Appeal’ has now reached it’s permanent home, and is located in a cabinet on the side of Altrincham Market (on the corner of Greenwood Street and Shaw’s Road).

Whilst clearly we hope it is never needed, the device is there so that in case of emergency it might be available to use by members of our local ‪Altrincham‬ community, as well as by the nursery.

The AED has been registered with the North West Ambulance Service who will give out the access code to the cabinet following a ’999′ call.

The defibrillator is fully automated and therefore very easy to use, as spoken instructions are provided at each stage. That said, we will be setting up a free demonstration session, OPEN TO ALL, led by Paul from First Responder, who carries out all our First Aid training requirements here at Juice.

Toddle Waddle

We did it! The staff, children and parents of Juice Nursery were out in force this morning around ‪Altrincham‬, enjoying the sunshine on our Toddle Waddle, whilst raising funds for Meningitis Now. All back safe and sound, in good time for lunch and a well deserved rest!

Well done to all those who took part, and thank you to all our lovely parents for supporting us… we raised a fantastic £828 in total, so a big, big shout out to everyone who donated – we really do appreciate it.

Singalong with Preschool!

Children from our Juice Nursery Preschool were out and about today bringing a little sunshine, and not to mention a homemade biscuit or two, to the residents of Altrincham’s St Andrew’s Court. As well as parading in their fabulous Easter bonnets, the children sang some Easter songs that they had been practising. Thanks to everyone at St Andrew’s Court for making us feel so welcome and for a lovely morning.

Lest we forget…

To mark Remembrance Day the children of Juice Nursery have been getting creative, making their own poppies which are displayed around the nursery. Taking things one stage further the children in our Green Room or Preschool, added the poppies that they had made to a wreath, which the children then took to Altrincham’s Regent Road memorial.

Movement Matters!

A big Juice Nursery shout out to our friends Kathy and Caroline from Stretch-n-Grow Altrincham & Sale who put our staff through their paces during a very informative (and interactive!!) workshop, reinforcing the importance of physical development in young children and the fact that movement really does matter for a variety of reasons.

With childhood obesity at an all time high, and children in the UK not getting enough regular exercise, it was great to hear from them to find out how we can ensure that we, here at nursery, are making the most of the sessions which they run for us on a weekly basis. With some top tips and additional ideas for activities that we can introduce to further enhance our planning this really was a brilliant session.

Birds, Bees and Butterflies…it’s Altrincham in Bloom

Today is the BIG day, as members of the RHS Britain in Bloom team come to ‪‎Altrincham‬ to judge the town’s entry into this year’s competition, the results of which will be announced in the autumn.

Overseen by Alty in Bloom, following a theme of Birds, Butterflies and Bees, we think that the community planters around the centre of town look fabulous!

Here are a few pictures of our Juice Nursery planter, located at the top of George Street, which with thought you might like to see!

Fingers crossed!

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

Our Juice Nursery Preschoolers had a great adventure yesterday, travelling by tram – a great source of great excitement, quite apart from anything else! – into Manchester’s China Town, where they enjoyed visiting a Chinese supermarket, buying items from their preprepared shopping list, as well as visiting a Chinese restaurant where they all enjoyed a slap up buffet lunch!

Healthy Living Festival

We had a great time yesterday, when we took part in Altrincham’s Healthy Living Festival! We were based in the Family Zone, based in Art with a Heart, right in the town centre, who reckoned that a whopping 870 visitors visited the zone throughout the course of the day! Lots of healthy fun was to be had, and it was fabulous to see so many lovely people visit our Juice Nursery activity area – the homemade play dough & sensory rice was a definite hit!! Thanks to all the organisers for doing such a great job arranging a fabulous family event! Here’s to next year!!

Food Glorious Food!

Just writing about our Juice Nursery Preschool’s trip to Altrincham Market’s Honest Crust pizza today is making us hungry! Following their current ‘Food’ theme, the children of the Green Room went to vist Richard at Honest Crust to find out just how to make pizza, what kind of ingredients he uses, as well as the processes he goes through to create truly yummy pizzas! Not only did the children get to watch Richard in action, but also were able to sample the finished product too for lunch! Deeeeelicious!!

A massive shout out goes to everyone at Honest Crust for making us feel so welcome – it was brilliant!!
