Princess Royal Training Awards 2018

What a fabulous afternoon, sharing with the assessors from the Princess Royal Training Awards & City and Guilds UK all that we have learnt since our staff completed the Mini Me Yoga training programme, earlier this yer.

We are serious about wellbeing here at Juice Nursery, and are really focused on ensuring that we do all that we can to enhance and promote this throughout the nursery, not only concentrating on our children, but also our team too.

The Mini Me programme has been one of the ways in which we have been able to do this, as the training provided our team with skills and techniques to help promote & safeguard wellbeing – physical, mental, emotional and social – whether it be their own, or that of a child in their care

To have even been shortlisted for this award is a real added bonus, and recognition of the progress that we have made, and our staff’s enthusiasm and dedication to ensuring that Juice continues to be a truly outstanding setting!

We are really really proud of our entire team … well done everyone! We would particularly like to thank those staff, children and parents who spoke to the assessors yesterday and yes, please do keep your fingers crossed for us….. #PRTA18 #icingonthecake #seriousaboutwellbeing

STOP PRESS…Altrincham Nursery at Forefront of Mental Health in Education

On Tuesday 1st May 2018, Juice Nursery celebrated becoming the first setting in the world to achieve ‘Mini Me Yoga Accreditation & Nursery status’, with an unveiling of their accreditation plaque.

International children’s yoga company Mini Me Yoga provides children with the tools to understand and take control of their feelings, using breathing, meditation and mindfulness. It increases children’s capacity to learn and be gentle to one another; it teaches respect for nature and how to grow strong mentally and physically.

The company’s founder, Kate Bartram-Brown commented that, “during this age where childhood diabetes, food intolerances and hyperactivity disorders are on the rise, the games and activities bring much needed time for children to create and express themselves.”

Mini Me Yoga is slightly different to most children’s yoga companies as they train parents and practitioners to share a simple 15-minute program with the children in their care. This means that yoga can be incorporated into the children’s everyday lives.

In order to meet the requirements for Mini Me Yoga Accreditation & Nursery status, Juice Nursery has trained 75% of its practitioners, and has incorporated the Mini Me Yoga programme into daily routines .

“We absolutely love Mini Me Yoga here at Juice Nursery and are excited and extremely proud, to become the first early years setting in the world to receive Mini Me Yoga status accreditation, in recognition of our dedication to wellbeing.

With so many benefits to both the children and our staff, the impact of the skills and techniques that we have learnt through the Mini Me Yoga and Positive Thinking programme, have had an extremely positive impact throughout the entire nursery, in a very short space of time.

And, as we strive to work with parents, to give their individual child the very best start in life, we truly believe that the programme has empowered and enabled us to more fully support the emotional, mental and physical health and wellbeing of the children in our care, which is so crucial to their future development and happiness, whilst having great fun at the same time too!” ‘ said Tracy Poole, Physical Development Champion

Ashley Costello, the UK School/Nursery Team Lead for Mini Me Yoga said, “the first Mini Me Yoga Accreditation & School status in the world was presented back in January and since then the programme has gone from strength to strength. I was delighted to present this award to Juice Nursery and it was lovely to spend time with their children, staff and parents, to celebrate this most special of occasions!”
